Begging for forgiveness

Forgiveness is a gift for us from God as well as a gift for us from us. It frees us from guilt giving us peace of mind. It also frees us from bad experiences in the past.

Forgiving others for their wrong doings against us can be very difficult especially when they hurt us very badly. Yet it is a very wise thing to do to forgive them to set our self free from the pain and suffering of the heartache.

We can learn things about forgiveness from the following verses, which are taken from the Holy Bible: New International Version. we may need to read the whole chapter respectively to get better understanding of each verse.

  1. Genesis 50:17
    ‘This is what you are to say to Joseph: I ask you to forgive your brothers the sins and the wrongs they committed in treating you so badly.’ Now please forgive the sins of the servants of the God of your father.” When their message came to him, Joseph wept.
  2. Exodus 23:21
    Pay attention to him and listen to what he says. Do not rebel against him; he will not forgive your rebellion, since my Name is in him.
  3. Exodus 34:9
    “O Lord, if I have found favor in your eyes,” he said, “then let the Lord go with us. Although this is a stiff-necked people, forgive our wickedness and our sin, and take us as your inheritance.”
  4. Leviticus 4:20
    and do with this bull just as he did with the bull for the sin offering. In this way the priest will make atonement for them, and they will be forgiven.
  5. Leviticus 4:26
    He shall burn all the fat on the altar as he burned the fat of the fellowship offering. In this way the priest will make atonement for the man’s sin, and he will be forgiven.
  6. Leviticus 5:16
    He must make restitution for what he has failed to do in regard to the holy things, add a fifth of the value to that and give it all to the priest, who will make atonement for him with the ram as a guilt offering, and he will be forgiven.

  9. Deuteronomy 29:20
